Aunty, she called Kerry who replied accordingly, do you really love me? she asked, why did you asked such a question? kerry asked surprisingly, I was wondering what Jane did to you that now made you hate her so much, she's my friend and I have feelings for her as she does for me, I think she deserves a better treatment and moreover, seeing her as a Junior staff below my rank is not befitting she landed.
Hmmmmmmm, aunt Kerry began with a deep breath, I love your spirit of friendship, you think your friend loves you but you don't even know the difference between love and infatuation, between being loved and being used, between a true nature and pretence, between a soldier and a camouflage.
Your friend has succeeded in turning you against the one who loves you, she made you think I'm wicked but let's see who really is, look at me, i gave you work, I gave you love, I gave you promotion, what else could make someone be a family? she asked, the only thing your friend does everytime is to make you feel hated, fight you, and wanted us to go into chaos, well I shall give you a way to test her and you shall know your enemy in due time, I'll give you the key to Peter's phone and you'll monitor his call records when he returns, and then you have to keep spying on her and watch how she talks about me and peter, can't you see that she's trying to use you? Aunt kerry landed, but you used to love her Kate reiterated, of course when she was loveable, before i got to know the real her, even now, I did not hate her, just her behavior expecially towards you aunt Kerry replied.
Do you realize she's trying to snatch Peter from you? Aunt Kerry asked in defense of her pretence, what!, hell no, that's not possible she backed Jane in her reply, ok watch out and see for yourself, that's all about her for now, let's talk about another thing.
So, another promotion is just around the corner if you are ready to receive it, but you have to go for now, I'll call you in due time she concluded, Kate left her office joyously leaving aunt Kerry on the phone with Peter in the longest conversation ever recorded the phone.
The next morning, aunt Kerry invited Jane to her office, they had a long silent conversation that even Kate would try to listen through the holes on the door but couldn't hear anything, now she's confused, could jane and aunty be hiding something from me about their relationship?, could aunty really love Jane but hate her behavior?, is this why aunty asked me to be spying on her? no it's not, but why are they silent for almost an hour now?, they are probably resolving the issue between them i guess, well, that should better be the case she said and went to her own office.
After sometime, Jane came out of aunty's office holding a white paper, she sat in her office when Peter's call came, hi Peter she responded as she picked his call, they talked for about one hour, meanwhile Kate was actually spying on her as advised by aunty, although the only part she heard was when Jane mentioned his name because Peter did most of the talking but she was sure it was Peter.
During the conversation, she was busy wondering: "I should have known, but no, maybe it's not what I was thinking, or maybe aunty was right, no I'm suspecting her too so she may not be right?, but could Peter be dating jane as well?, did Kate really want to snatch him?, no that's not it, Peter was actually looking for her phone number and it was him who called her, therefore, it must have been him looking for her, or maybe that's why Kate was trying to warn me because the last time she came to my place, Peter could not sleep through the night and wouldn't have sex with me.
Hmmmmmmm, she exhaled heavily and journeyed the her office, then she was sent for by aunty.
On getting to Aunt Kerry's office, she handed another envelope to her, she has been promoted again, she was surprised about the margin between the first and the second promotion, although she would have to go for a week training in the regional headquarters, there the promotion letter would be stamped and she will become a supervisor as read in the paper.
she could only thank her for the support, you don't have to thank me, we are almost a family now she confirmed, it's almost closing hour, go and round up and come to my house after work aunty ordered as they dismissed.
At aunt Kerry's house, they both had a long conversation concerning her promotion and her dwellings at the regional headquarters.
what about jane she asked, oh! that one, we'll talk about her later, tomorrow you must report to the headquarters because you will spend the week end there aunty stated. it's only a week journey and Peter will be here on holidays by your return date so its an enjoyment cycle she added.
I think I should talk to Jane about this so she doesn't miss me or feel mistreated Kate thought aloud, no!, she knows it, and she knows that it's an impromptu exercise because our company needs a supervisor prior to Mr gabbie's promotion and we all know that and tomorrow, I'll be leaving for the city for the final stage of my treatment after which I'll be totally healed she said.
perhaps that's what they were discussing in her office earlier, she must have chosen Jane over me but she would have refused, and then she had to call me to do it, maybe she's not a natural hater after all, but should Jane had accepted to do it then she'll be two steps above me, oh! that's not fair, all these she wondered within herself, ok aunty I'll have to go and rest before tomorrow's stressful journey she said as she walked a good bye to her house.
