chapter 5 : the last help

The following night, kate could not sleep nor did she talk to peter, none of them could sleep through the dawn.

The next morning, an elephant was lighter then each of her legs, meanwhile aunt kerry was out of the state for a regional meeting and due to return in two days, Jane saw Peter's call and was begged to come to her friend's aid, she left for Kate's house immediately only to meet her crying due to pains, What's happening to her peter asked, she's allergic to toxins, not the one from her promotion day though that was still normal, someone must have fed her with hard drugs she cleared, how did you know this? he asked, she's my friend and that's all she replied.

Now you must rush to the nearest pharmacy and buy according to my prescription she ordered.

Peter went and returned with the medicine and after five minutes of usage, Kate slept like a beer and conversation began between peter and jane.

You don't have to drug her to get whatever, she's my friend and I trust her to give u whatever with ease as long as you ask she confirmed, why hurting her? she asked, look I'm sorry, I didn't know she's going to get hurt, I did it so she could sleep and I could get your contact as she wouldn't give it to me in defense that I don't slip into your hands he sobered, but I didn't know it will react so badly he added, now you got my number but unfortunately, I can drop it and switch to another line so that none of you will reach at will and then keeping this one doesn't guarantee your talk with me, so I'll take my leave she concluded.

No please don't do that he knelt and pleaded, I just want to be a talking partner i just need someone to talk to he begged, ok but on my terms she said in agreement, what are your terms? he asked, number one, no lies she listed, and number two? he asked, stay tuned she replied as she adjusted her sitting position, please note that I won't say anything upon my discovery that you lied, it will only mean the end of our conversation, are we clear? she asked and peter replied in agreement.

I've known you for about three months before my friend Kate got to know you, you used to disturb me for a hand in date but I wouldn't listen, you got tired and asked my friend out who fell in two weeks, you don't talk to aunt Kerry like she's your aunt as she claimed, she's a widow but she's never talked to anyone about her husband, nor has anyone seen his pictures, it's like she doesn't miss him, all these and more yet to be told are confusing, I require your explanation she landed.

Peter took a deep breath, it took him minutes to come back to himself,  he cleared his throat and was ready to talk when Kate woke up, oh! dear how are you? jane quickly interrupted, I'm fine and thank you for showing up Kate replied, well well, I'll just advise you to stay off toxins till end of the year, bye she waved to her, as she got to the door, a crying voice called her name, she stopped but didn't look back, Kate went to meet her by the door, I'm sorry Jane, I thought I could do this alone, I never meant to offend you but I was confused, now I understand why you were crying for me, no you don't Jane interrupted, right now you need a sound sleep and nice sex to dust the rest of the toxins in your body, have a nice night she concluded, she opened the door and that was all between both parties that night.

Following her friend's advice, she quickly returned to bed and jumped on Peter, you called her didn't you? she asked, I did he replied, Jane is the most humane I've ever met, we are not in good terms and yet she came to take care of me and not just because we look alike but that's what she does, that's her she confirmed, on your promotion day, you were drunk, aunt Kerry was sick, she wanted to help but Aunt Kerry wouldn't let her so she came to call you and I went in your stead Peter added,  wow ! she said surprisingly, but why did aunt Kerry hated her that much that she even wanted me to hate her as well? she asked, I can't tell he replied, then I  guess she must be a natural hater like somebody called her she said, what! who called her a natural hater? he asked angrily, well someone she hates she replied solemnly.

After hearing that, Peter's face fell, he had sensed the same thing when he was on the phone with Kerry the day Kate was promoted, now she hated Kerry for hating jane but couldn't change that, even though Kate tried to seduce him that night all to no avail, he thought about Jane through the night, he felt Kate stole her friend's love but no, Jane didn't agree to date me anyway but after all I didn't love kate, I just have to agree with Kerry since I needed her as planned.

The next morning at work, Kate spent most of the day in Jane's office discussing about life when they had misunderstanding and that left everyone in the building gisting.

I think they are sisters because their fight don't last, only their companionship do said a party, well, the only reason I'm supporting the motion is that they share a stunning semblance said another party, I agree to that because they came here together, plait the same hair style, share a height, one is more outspoken as nature demands and the lived together until aunt Kerry came in between them said another.

In Jane's office where both Kate and Jane were talking,  the following ensured between them, are u keeping anything from me? Kate asked, because u refused to talk to me that night she added, no I'm not keeping anything, if anyone could tell that I seldom talk, it Should be you Jane replied, I know, but your reaction spoke a lot Kate reiterated, then listen to my reaction if u must understand it Jane replied swiftly, and shouldn't you have been in your office since morning? she asked, anyway you are now above the law she concluded.

Kate stood up in disappointment and hurried to her office, meanwhile, aunt kerry was already looking for her and found her faced down, honey she called out on her, are you sick? she asked but received no answer, she helped lift her head and then became surprised to see her crying, I know it's that witch jane, and I'll deal with her she assured her,
